Liverpool vs Manchester United and a Chinese Takeaway

Last weekend Liverpool faced off against Manchester United in the Premier League. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Steven Gerrard scoring for Liverpool with Hernandez equalising for Manchester United late on.

After a comment on twitter from someone (who I’m embarrassed to admit I can’t remember) that likened squad numbers to items on a Chinese take away menu, I thought it may be amusing to replace the names of players with numbered dishes from the “Food 4 U” Chinese take away in Thornton Heath, Surrey. Here are the results:

Liverpool took the lead on the 68th minute with a goal from Spicy Chicken Wings. Alex Ferguson reacted to his side going a goal down by bringing on Smoked Shredded Chicken, Bang Bang Chicken and Vegetarian Pancake Roll. It was the latter who equalised in the 81st minute.

Normal blogging will resume very soon, I promise, I’m hoping to have a couple of pieces up on the site over the next week or so.

  1. This was funny, but the only thing that doesn’t work is that you’ve got the same dishes playing for both teams in some cases. Maybe you should’ve used menus from two different takeaways. I reckon Liverpool vs. United could be as big as Indian vs. Chinese one day.
